4Solid, Accurate M14/M1A System
By Mark N.
The Troy M14 MCS SASS Package is a collection of four good to great components; the Troy Modular Chassis System, the Magpul PRS stock, the Troy Front and Rear Folding Battle Sights, and an AR-15 A2 pistol grip. More can be said about the stock, sights, and grip, as they are direct from the M-16/AR-15 family of ergonomics, but I will focus on the chassis, as it is the most significant component both in terms of cost and departure from the norm. The Troy MCS is solid and heavy, built from a single piece of aircraft grade aluminum. Nothing about it feels cheap. The Picatinny rails at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock are all numbered, and provide excellent mounting surfaces. The piece is engineered to accept most any mil-spec firearm accessory, and in this respect offers a superior range of options over just about any other M14/M1A stock option. The Troy MCS captures the receiver, barrel, and other "guts" of the M14/M1A in a solid, yet easily installed or removed, housing. The setup or takedown lasts only minutes, once you have a handle on things. No special tools or expertise are required (but make sure not to have a unitized gas system on your intended rifle). All together, everything fits so solidly that the chassis acts as its own glass bedding job, thereby increasing accuracy by about 1/4 to 1/2 MOA, according to anecdotal evidence throughout the M14/M1A community. It should be noted that an M14/M1A in the Troy MCS is a heavy weapons system. The loaded weight of the rifle, including chassis, stock, optics, mount, and loaded magazine will approach and may exceed 15 lbs. Compare that to a standard M14/M1A in a wood or synthetic stock, and you're realistically talking about an increase of 1 - 3 lbs. to the overall weight of the weapon system, depending upon who you ask. This is not unforgivable, but it does take an already substantial system and make it heavier. The tradeoff in weight is that the Troy MCS SASS operator gets an accurized, stabilized, more ergonomic M14/M1A system, with better perceived recoil characteristics and follow-up shot performance (due to the stock being positioned in-line with the barrel and receiver). The Troy MCS SASS improves handling and shot performance, while offering the ability to mount hardware to the M14/M1A necessary for the sniper role. At the end of the day, however, the cost and weight severely cuts into the value of those incremental gains, meaning that you have to be sure the tradeoff works in your favor - it won't for everybody.

2Should not be advertised as a Dog Fence
By Jason Fusek
I purchased this in the hope of having a cheap and easy fence to install. My dog is a Schnauzer mix, currently a 12 pound pup. Getting it up was easy. I used electric fence stakes/poles and cable ties to support it. Then the "dog test". The puppy did fine for a few hours. Then, after a wave of anxiety overcame her for want of my attention, she chewed though it and made a hole large enough to squeeze through. So, my thoughts are: if your dog is inclined to chew AT ALL then this will not be an adequate fence for your pet. On the other hand, dogs already trained not to bite, who are not escape artists, and which know the boundaries of the yard would probably do fine. Now I have erected a 5 foot high woven steel untility fence over this one - which is what I should have done in the first place. This product would be adequate for a chicken coop and chicken run - that is what I will use the remainder of the "fence material" for.

5surprisingly great chairs
By A. Brumley
Whenever I order "put it together yourself" furniture, I immediately have my doubts on the quality. I was pleasantly surprised by these chairs. They come packed in a large cardboard box with plenty of styrofoam to protect the wood from scratches/nicks. The hardware (screws) came clearly labeled in a plastic bag with a long read ribbon marked "HARDWARE", so you won't miss it or accidentally throw it out. These chairs came with all the hardware necessary to assemble -- free allen wrench included -- and the screws are very high quality. There are 4 parts to each chair: 2 front legs, the seat, and the back/back legs. The pieces are solid wood, and the chairs were assembled in under 10 minutes each.I also liked that each chair came with extra screws (in case there is a default with one or you lose one). For the price, these chairs can't be beat for their quality and looks!

5Beautiful
By scotney479
We purchased the Home Styles Wood Dining Table and 2 sets of side chairs. I was a little nervous making such a purchase online, but I knew these looked like the style I wanted and I was unable to find anything like them locally. I'm so glad I made the purchase. They are all so nice. They are solid, sturdy pieces. I love the contrast between the black and oak. The table and chairs really look like high end pieces. It took my husband about an hour to put together the table and four chairs. Definately worth the price. Love this item!

5ZR30W, the best screen I've ever seen.
By J. Robinson
After a few hours playing with my new ZR30W, the results are in!I've tested images and gaming of the ZR30W versus the other monitors on my desk; the LG W3000H 30", BenQ G2400W 24" and Viewsonic's VX2265WM 120Hz 22". I have not yet color calibrated the screen with my Spyder 3 Elite.First impressions:The ZR30W came in a real nice thick quality well packed shipping box.The Bezel around the screen is just a tad thicker than I was imagining in my head, just a few millimeters shorter than the LG W3000H. One positive to the HP bezel though is it's the same width on all four sides which is helpful if you ever want to do portrait multi-display.The stand is nice and wide with a decent heft. Just plain matte black plastic, the LG's is a little fancier and has a piano black gloss base. There is not as much vertical adjustment on the HP as I would have wanted. Especially for us taller people, it's nice to have a screen that can raise pretty high. The LG stand allows another inch or two height here, so the LG wins the stand department. Neither can do portrait mode, you would need a much beefier stand design to reach that tall. The HP has a nice aluminum strip around the entire edge of the display , adding a nice quality touch. These 30" panels are very deep though, for multi-display gaming overlapping the displays bezels will be a bit tougher. I have removed the LG's bezel before and there was significant space savings to be had with the bezel removed for surround gaming. I haven't done this yet to the HP as to make sure I have a long term fully functioning display before voiding any warranties. Although if removed properly, i don't think the manufacturers could notice that the bezel was removed. The HP has just 4 buttons out front, on/off, source and dim/bright buttons. That's all I need. The LG has a LED on/off toggle for the power indicator and a way to turn off the beeping sound as you make bright/dim adjustments. The Hp doesn't make any menu noise, it let's you know you have reached the min/max in brightness by simply blinking the power LED. The HP's power LED also goes off after a few seconds which I like.On connectivity, the HP has the LG beat. The LG has a single DVI-D connector, while the HP has DVI-D and Display port. While I think DVI-D isn't going anywhere soon, it's nice to know you have the option for Display port if those future graphics cards are DP only. Both monitors have two under monitor mounted USB ports and two on the side.My HP arrived with zero dead/stuck pixels just like my LG. It appears the quality control on these higher end panels is much more stringent over the cheaper panels. I've read a few reports of early ZR30W's exhibiting some sort of audible buzzing noise from the power supply when brightness was reduced. My HPZR30W is silent at any brightness setting. Either I got lucky, or more likely HP resolved the issue that a few early monitors had. The build date of my HP is May 2010.Now for picture quality:The instant I turned the ZR30W right next to my LG I could see there was an improvement in image quality. The LG uses the LG LM300WQ5 panel, but I believe the HP uses a newer revision of the basic LM300WQ5. I have not taken the monitor apart yet to confirm this. The largest difference that I can see appear to be the back lighting. The ZR30W exhibits much purer whites. You can really tell that there are some high-end wide color gamut CCFL's in the HP. The LG look's to have a greenish/tan tint to it compared to the HP. I cannot stress it enough how good the whites look on the HP.For color reproduction in standard sRGB color-space, both are very similar. The HP might have a tinge more saturation or "pop" to the colors over the LG, which in itself looks very good. The TN panels next to the IPS look just dreadful in comparison.Contrast ratio's are still very good, very similar between the LG and HP. Although, with the HP's purer white's, the contrast seem's more crisp in the transition from white to black. Pixel response times appear to be identical using test images. Ghosting to my naked eye appears to be identical to the LG, which never had a huge ghosting problem to begin with. These are quite fast IPS panels and to my subjective eye don't ghost any more than the Viewsonic 120Hz TN panel using the same test image.Input lag appears to be imperceptible, just like on the LG. This is thanks to the lack of a scalar which I find a very good feature. I only run 2560x1600 resolution so I need no extra electronics that would add input lag. you would neither want the LG nor the HP for PS3/Xbox 360, but that's not what it's designed for. You would need a good test setup to accurately gauge input lag that is below one frame. Moving minimized windows quickly across the desktop cannot match the fluidity of the 120Hz panel, but that is expected. You can't win all the categories! (Hello OLED?)Both the HP and LG can only do exactly 60Hz, sorry movie editing guru's. I've adjusting both manually and at different resolutions, but they both just go signal blank when fed a 50Hz signal. In conclusion, I thought it was going to be hard to beat the LG W3000H in image quality. The ZR30W has surpassed my expectations. The pure whites, excellent colors, limited ghosting and very low input lag make this the best display I have ever used. The LG is off to Ebay and my order for two more HP ZR30W's has been placed for nVidia Surround. The unfortunate side effect of going 7680x1600 3x 30" is that I realized I need a larger desk. After viewing quality displays like these, you do realize just how poor the image quality of TN panels are and both of mine will also be off to Ebay.

5Um, yeah. As a gaming monitor, this thing rocks.
By Meta
Ok, I'm a gaming fanatic. I like high frame rates, low input lag, nice color range, and high resolution. I was willing to put up with a little bit of input lag for the sake of the massive resolution and color range you get with the ZR30w. But, having played a whole bunch of games (including ALL of the Crysis titles, all recent CoD titles, BC2, Just Cause 2, and, of course, ME2) on it for well over a month, I haven't noticed any increase in lag or ghosting. (And I was looking.) And I upgraded from a Samsung 2493HM, which is known to be a very, very responsive 1920x1200 monitor. (Frame rates weren't adversely affected either, but, hmmmmmmm, that's probably due to upgrading to two GTX 580's in SLI.)Granted, there are faster monitors out there. But they have about half the pixels! And they can't compete with the color contrast and vibrancy of this monitor, either. (As you'll notice if you read some of the other reviews of the ZR30w, some think its colors are oversaturated. I take their point, but I like it.) Maybe I'll rethink things if, at some point, I start getting pwned online due to the lag between control inputs and visual feedback. But so far so good. And my games have never looked so very, very nice!!!!!! Eye candy is just so much sweeter on this monitor.Oh, and it's great for other stuff you might do with your computer, too. A lot of my work is done on my gaming pc, and it often helps to have a handful of documents and webpages in view at the same time. The desktop space on this thing is NICE! And it's not too heavy of a monitor, either, which means you won't have much trouble finding a monitor arm to mount it on. (I'm using an Innovative 7500-1500 27-Inch Deluxe Floating Flat Panel LCD Monitor Radial Arm (Black) and it works like a charm.) With a good arm, you can have this thing just floating above your desk! It's a wonderful thing. Now, I guess there are certain negatives that should be mentioned, e.g. the lack of HDMI inputs, and the lack of an OSD. But these things really don't matter to me. I just need the one input, and there's nothing you can do with an OSD that you can't do with software. Granted, if there were a product out there that let me have it all, I'd be considering it. But this monitor gives me the best available balance of the things that matter to me, and it does this for an acceptable price. So, although it's probably not the very best choice for everyone who can afford it, it's the best choice for me, and it may be the best choice for you. In any case, the ZR30w has enough going for it to warrant 5 stars.

1Very Bad Experience
By Queue Cumber
These monitors are great if you get a good one. But, if you get a bad one and decide to use HP's warranty, prepare for the worst experience of your life. I started out with a screen that had a stuck bright pixel. If I had just returned the screen where I originally bought it I would have gotten my money back. Instead I decided to use HP's warranty. Six monitors later I still have a bad monitor! It is apparent that HP's warranty doesn't provide you with a new monitor but rather refurbished monitors that are not truly fixed by HP but are merely shuffled around from person to person. Here are some of the issues I've had: stuck bright pixels; damaged frames; flickering screens; uniformity issues with color splotches; noticeable burn-in that lasts a a dozen or more seconds after a window has sat in one spot for a minute or so.Sadly, since I no longer have the same serial number monitor and box, I can't return it to the original place where I purchased it. I've had this monitor for 30 days, and I'm surprised that HP can't simply send me a new unit instead of the never ending succession of broken refurbished units. I finally just filed with the BBB.Make sure wherever you buy this monitor has a no questions asked return policy, and DO NOT use HP's warranty or suffer the same fate I am still stuck suffering as I write this review...

5Army user
By T.Swank - Army
I'm INF doing PSD in AFG, a lot of mount up > dismount > mount up kind of stuff. I do a lot of shooting in the off time and like long fixed stocks but those don't fit well in tight places. Saw this bad boy, talked to the CO and the armorer (do first soldiers!) and ordered. Been using for about 5 months now and it is amazing, exactly what I wanted: compact and solid(Mounted/CQ) or long and fixed(dismounted). I currently have it on my M4 and, unlike the POS KAC 6p stock, when it locks it IS a fixed stock, no wobbles, shakes, sliding and it has a fixed cheek rest. It also extends out a few more inches than the KAC stock for those who like them long and has a lot more weight to it so your ready ups are pretty quick and smooth. Don't worry ground pounders, its not noticeable weight... whiners! The durability is also of note, mine has taken a lot of punishment and still is as solid as when it was new. I do have the metal footplate thingy on there which has taken a few sound beatings. Last thing, it comes with sling loops at the neck of the stock for one point sling users, also tough.Good stuff.

4Great Build quality
By Leejin
This thing is built like a tank. It's a little heavy, but weight is sign of reliability. If it doesn't shoot, you could always hit him with it.I have this on my 6.8 SPC AR-15 and I love it. This for sure isn't for a "Light and Close Quarters" rifle, but more of a bench gun. All parts are really strong. When it's locked into position, it feels like an A2 Stock. Very solid. You can also remove the stock completely, and leave the buffer tube in place. That might save some weight. So, why not 5 stars? It's a little heavier than I thought... and the new one from Ergo has a rubber butt pad. Something this stock is really missing.

5I like it!
By Myles
This is the best AR-15, M16 stock I have ever used, and the only one I would trust so far in hand to hand combat. Mine came complete with rubber butt pad, although it's clearly not for everyone. For instance if you are an operator who operates in operations in full body armor and no extension or one extension click this stock is probably too heavy for your tastes and the release latch will annoy your wrist. Unless you are running one of the new pistol grips with less angle like the BCM or Magpul K grip. There is also no storage space, a bit odd for such a large unitFor what I am using it for it balances the rifle very nicely, it is significantly cheaper than the only other stock like it, the Magpul UBR and in my opinion it is significantly more ascetically pleasing. I was also considering the Troy battle-ax stock but once again I think it looks better so I went with this.

5bet AR mount anywhere!
By alex
Bought one of these for my RRA LAR 15 to use with a Leupold Mark AR on top and a Leupold Deltapoint on the side. Got it, opened it, and could not have been more impressed with the build of this mount! Rock solid craftsmanship. Placed it on my AR and it holds tight and sits perfectly. Take it off...no problem. Put it back on....exact return to scope zero. Just bought another one for my RRA LAR-8! Get one, or two, you will not ever want any other mount!
