Work, but not as slick as I like... for the money, quite good.

I like PRECISE systems:systems that require no excess work to get the results...these things have a slightly coarse feel to 'em,compared with some others I had years ago...( were they X9's? I don't remember )Compared with the junk you find on all "consumer" bikes,these are *excellent*...but these aren't Swiss Watch smooth/precise,the way I like...so, for me, next time I invest in a "works" bike,it'll be the X9 or X0 shifters,but for the next few years,these'll probably be my bike's shifters without regret.hth!

SRAM is the best

I don't care who you ask! SRAM makes the best shifters and these are absolutely the best for your money. Once you buy SRAM you won't buy anything else as far as shifters are concerned.
